Colin M. After realizing that "Tides End" had become one of my favorite albums, I had to pick this up too and I'm sure glad I did because it rocks. Favorite track: Ithaca.

tristram85 Had to buy this after seeing these guys supporting Orbital Junction in Camden, and it became my favourite album of the year. So many great riffs on this record, but with some great contrasting mellower sections and great vocals. Nice production on this record and the vinyl pressing is super clean too. Favorite track: Lonely Cities.

Everglades 03:13
Born to the everglades And steeped in the fire
2.
Never the fated to meet In the lonely city Where the tired refuse to sleep In a blue lit avalon Take back this fortune from me In the absence of cynics We all walk into the sea With crossed fingers Out in the grey and the glass The procession of sadness Determined to never be last In broken babylon We are the rust in the streets These rivers of burden Are singing us all to sleep In a blue lit avalon These words will never light the way A harvest that withers in shade Serving the weak as their slaves We sing of the kingdom we made

Ten Paces 03:42
Keep the candles lit in their lines Dig shallow pits in the earth and grip your relics Keep the fires lit in their lines Say a couple of words and Hold back the quickening, hold back the hollow hand Ten paces at the dawn Keep the shelter shift until you’re home Feel the fingers lift as the slow-down beckons Keep the shelter drift until you’re home A destroyer of worlds and The son of a no one, the black in the poisoned well Ten paces at the dawn And I’ve been out, searching for The buzz that feeds, a thirst for more And I’ve found a place, to hide you away And leave you to the wolves
5.
Keep Watch 03:04
Keep watch, I’m watching The tide stops When you swim in the river Keep watch, listen The pin drops For the silence in the mind I am the coast Watched from the sea A place for you to breathe Keep watch, watching It's not enough To swim in the river Keep watch, lifted It's not enough To look into the sky I am the coast Watched from the sea A place for you to breathe Keep watch, I’m waiting The time stops And fades in the flicker Keep watch, cautious The just God Is the ruin of the times I am the coast Watched from the sea A place for you to breathe
6.
Fortress 02:43
Fortress, unbreachable The mighty come to meet the cull Fortress, unmerciful Onwards and out into the sun Fortress, we’ll be the last To bring the doom within the craft Fortress, head of the cask The weight that tips the crooked mask We set fuel to the fire Leave it out in the bloom Ash fell thick onto the hills Fortress, the words in the wind That sow the seed so it begins Fortress, never to fall It blisters and sparks into a sun

Ithaca 02:03
8.
Lights hung over the hill Before the night was done Leave it or drink your fill You know what's waiting Under the hanging sun The click in the clockwork gun Set down on the inner isle The foot on the ground that falls The cackle in the silent call The shudder in the baying trees Too easy to gather close We keep company with our ghosts This time Leave it in the autumn lull This time Leave it in the darkened halls This time Leave it in the falling rain This time Leave it in the whir of the city And you need it From the mouth of the mirror stare And you need it The dust in the glare

about

'It provides a vibrant cross-section of tightly knit textures with far beyond-the-norm bounds of musicality. Together the approach delivers one hell of a killer debut, structured well upon a sound quite all its own.' - Riff Relevant

'Though it starts off showcasing some thickened All Them Witches-style psych-blues influence in its opening cut, what unfurls from there on Mountains‘ debut album, Dust in the Glare, digs into a crisp and progressive take on heavy rock.' - The Obelisk

"Dust In The Glare" is not your archetypical "underground" rock album it crosses back and forth between genres touching base with prog, stoner, metal and even a little grunge in places but it is this diversity of styles that makes this album stand out from the crowd and makes this an album you should definitely check out.'
